High Modernism, Virginia Woolf and The Waves

Prose poem or poetic novel? Virginia Woolf’s experiment, The Waves, represents a challenge to even the most devoted admirer. The seminar will attempt to come to grips with this challenging text and to anchor it in the High Modernist context of the 1930s. Reading and discussion will take place in English.
